PSMD may be a promising new test for CAA

A rather technical-sounding measure called “Peak Width of Skeletonized Mean Diffusivity” (PSMD) has been proposed as a measure of brain injury. According to an article in published in “Frontiers in Neuroscience,” this measure – a variant on conventional MRI – may be able to distinguish between injury caused by cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) or arteriosclerosis. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/365331164_Peak_width_of_skeletonized_mean_diffusivity_in_cerebral_amyloid_angiopathy_Spatial_signature_cognitive_and_neuroimaging_associations
